Scrapbooking Tips

ABC Tracers: When using an ABC tracer template to trace and cut out letter for titles, place the template upside down on the wrong side of the paper to trace. Then when you cut out the letter, turn them over and they will be the right way up, without any pencil marks to rub out. The pencil marks will be on the underneath (wrong side).

Tearing Mulberry Paper: For a straighter edge, tear against the side of a metal ruler. For a fluffy edge, wet the area you wish to tear using a wet cotton bud or an Aquash water pen. Gently pull apart and you will have a lovely fluffy edge, with some loose fibre strands around the edges.

Journaling Tips: Stuck on a title? Try using lyrics from a song. Stuck on what to write? Remember the Who? What? Where? When? and Why? Answer those questions in your journaling and others can easily enjoy your photos and understand what's going on in each layout even when you're not there. For added interest, try journaling around the edge of photos, or around the page itself. This method can make the journaling more subtle than a journaling box.
